The Beer pimp was out in full force to celebrate Tsing Tao and the Chinese New Year at the Hilton, Mr. Bings, LiPo, the Buddha Lounge and Azul. It has been a while since the BP rolled into Mr. Bings but once inside it was liking putting on your favorite pair of jeans. The apex of the night was LiPo, incredible fireworks and rumaging through the streets of Chinatown.

A truly commited beer guy knows the whole city, not just the Mission or the Marina. As I have said many times before cold beer and good times are everywhere. Now as a marketing pimp I know that the best events just happen. You bring the right elements together and hope for awesome-ness. That is the true warrior way, always be prepared and sometimes bold action is needed.

Like bringing a friend dressed as Santa Claus to the Portal Tavern. Or when Santa Claus used a 6 foot Corona bottle to get every person in the bar, conga line style, to do the Mombo. Needless to say every one had a Corona light and this one beer warrior had that moment when I knew eveything went just right.

If you are out in the West Portal check out the Portal Tavern. The owner Dan is great, the beer is cold and there are good times to be had.

Next time you are standing anywhere there are packaged goods from a magazine rack, the medicine aisle at the super market to the beer cooler, remember that immense resources are expended in the all out warfare that is waged between suppliers and distributors to determine exactly where each item is placed on a shelf. I have seen fistfights over whether a beer goes on the handle or the hinge. As one of the biggest beer pimps I know says, "yeah, that's pimp shit".

Let's say your are sitting at your desk posting to your blog, pimp style, sharing knowledge and trading war stories. Good stuff. Your VP is creeping down the hall, POW, he comes in your office. He asks you some ridiculous warm up question: "So is so and so still out of town?" SMAP there it comes, "So, what are you working on right now?"
